I wanted to share with all of you that I am retiring and moving on from REACH. My last day at the agency will be Friday, May 24. I have called REACH home for 40 years, and I have had a great time. Working for a non-profit and the mission we are tasked with has been very self- rewarding. What I will miss most is the awesome team I have had the pleasure to work with, the excitement, the sense of family, and the individuals we serve.
My plans are to spend time with my eight grandchildren, fish, and relax.
Every day that I’ve come into the office, I’ve been greeted by the best and most hardworking staff. From our direct support professionals (DSPs) and job coaches who provide one-on-one support to the individuals at our agency, to our custodial and shredding staff, all the way to our team of accountants, HR professionals, and the rest of the administration staff, each person employed at REACH is critical to fulfilling our mission. The entire agency has my deepest thanks and gratitude for working tirelessly to create communities free of barriers for the individuals we serve.
Moving forward into the future, the leadership team is committed to enhancing the workplace culture for the DSPs, job coaches and custodians, and they will be working on new initiatives over the rest of this year to make REACH the employer of choice in the Intellectual and Developmental Disability sector. Sherri McDonald, REACH’s Quality Assurance Director, will be the Interim Executive Director while the REACH Board of Directors conducts a search for a new Executive Director. If you have any questions about this transition, please do not hesitate to talk with your supervisor or the leadership team.
It’s been an incredible honor to serve my community and the support.
Sincerely, Dan Elstad
